Remember the speech of Joe Biden that said, “Were there not an Israel, the United States of America would have to invent an Israel” and reaffirmed that Israel is the single greatest strength of America in the Middle East? Yes, but Joe Biden is not the only supporter of Israel’s atrocity; his predecessors also supported unwaveringly and backed Israel’s atrocity. Even when Israel attacked the Al Ahli hospital, killing thousands of people, most of them children and women, Joe Biden shamelessly declined Israel’s liability and made Palestinians responsible for that inhumane attack, which is undoubtedly a war crime committed by Israel against Palestine.
It is evident that the relationship between the United States and Israel over the years has faced scrutiny, controversy, and unwavering support. But the US backed Israel shamelessly and unprecedently, denouncing the human rights of the Palestinians over the years. This article delves deep into the intricacies of this bloodthirsty relationship, shedding light on the key factors that have driven the United States back to Israel consistently.
Why has the US consistently backed Israel?
A Blood-Spattered Bond
The relationship between the United States and Israel is often portrayed as ‘unbreakable.’ It is a partnership that has endured various challenges and changes over the decades. But why the US backed Israel consistently? What are the reasons? To answer this question, we need to examine the historical, political, and strategic factors that have shaped this alliance.
The Israel-Palestine Conflict: A Comprehensive Overview
Historical Foundations
World War II and the Holocaust
The US entered World War II in 1941 after Japan attacked Pearl Harbor. The war was a global conflict that involved the major powers of the world, divided into two opposing camps: the Allies and the Axis. The Allies included the US, Britain, France, China, and the Soviet Union, while the Axis consisted of Germany, Italy, and Japan. One of the main goals of the Allies was to defeat Nazi Germany, which had invaded and occupied most of Europe and was persecuting and killing millions of Jews and other minorities. The Nazi regime implemented a systematic genocide plan, known as the Final Solution, that aimed to exterminate all Jews in Europe. The Nazis tagged the Jews as filthy rats and used various methods to carry out their atrocities, such as mass shootings, ghettos, concentration camps, and death camps, as, for instance, the Israeli government is doing to the Palestinians now in the occupied territory.
The US and its allies were unaware of the full extent of the Holocaust while they were busy bombing Japan with nuclear bombs, “Little Boy” and “Fat Boy.” The American soldiers and journalists who massacred Japan and Vietnam witnessed scenes of oppression by the Nazis. The images and testimonies of the survivors were widely reported in the American media, creating a strong sense of outrage and compassion among the American public. The American policymakers found the genocidal potential and used the vulnerability of the then-Jews to fill their needs to destroy and gain control over the Middle East.
Truman’s Recognition
The Jews migrated from Europe to Palestine under the Belfour Declaration in 1917 with the intention of establishing illegal statehood for Jews occupying the Palestinian territory when the British administered Palestine. In 1947, Britain announced that it would withdraw from Palestine. Palestine was a territory in the Middle East that was inhabited by both Muslims and a few Jews. The United Nations proposed a partition plan in 1947 that would divide Palestine into two states: one for Jews and one for Muslims. The Jews accepted the plan, but the Arab neighbors rejected it.
On May 14, 1948, David Ben-Gurion, the leader of the Jewish community in Palestine, declared the establishment of the state of Israel on the occupying territory of Palestine. The illegal establishment got immediate reactions from around the world. The Arab neighbors were ready to tackle the illegal establishment and its settlers. However, the new establishment received crucial support from President Harry S. Truman, who decided to recognize Israel just 11 minutes after it declared independence.
Factors behind Israel’s Atrocities in Palestine
Truman’s decision was based on his personal conviction that the Jewish people deserved a homeland after suffering so much in the Holocaust, while he dehumanized the human rights and fundamental rights of the people of Palestine in terms of its territorial integrity and sovereignty. He also saw Israel, the new establishment, as a strategic ally in the Middle East and took a chance to create chaos and destroy the regional integrity of the Middle East. Truman’s recognition of Israel was nothing more or less abominable, a blood-spattered action that defied the regional integrity of the Middle East and the territorial integrity of the sovereignty of Palestine. Dehumanizing the Palestinians and trying to swallow up the land of Palestine is still the same animus, corrupt, miscreant, and nasty as it was then.
Shared Democratic Values
The United States and Israel have a long-standing and strategic partnership that is based on many factors, but one of the most important is their so-called “shared democratic values.” Theoretically, the United States and Israel are both democracies that uphold the principles of freedom, human rights, the rule of law, and pluralism. Though these values are enshrined in their constitutions, they are not reflected in their political systems, civil societies, or cultures. The United States and Israel have a mutual understanding of so-called democratic institutions and processes, consult and cooperate on issues of common interest, and often we can see and experience the activities of those so-called democratic institutions and processes around the world, like Gaza, Syria, Afghanistan, Palestine, Iraq, and so on.
Israel is also a plagued democracy in the Middle East, a region that is different from the Western values of governance and lifestyle and that is suffering tremendous atrocities incited and caused by the Western hegemony of hypocrisy, violence, and human rights violations around the world. The character of Israel’s democracy is quite interesting. How? Let me give an example: the last atrocities committed by Israel are ongoing in Palestine. On this occasion, hundreds of people marched in the heart of the Israeli settlement in Tel Aviv against the atrocities and war crimes that it is committing continuously under the shelter of the US. But the boss of the police department raged at the march and said that those who are against the war in Israel should be thrown into besieged Gaza on a bus! Like this, every person or party who is against the apartheid Israel atrocities and the rights of territorial integrity of Palestinian people is thrashed, crushed, and humiliated by the Israeli settlements and its backbone, the US.
Though both the US and the Israeli establishment seek to promote democracy and stability in the region, the reality is the opposite. The United States supports Israel’s right to exist as a Jewish and democratic state and defends its security against external threats, while also encouraging Israel to achieve its goal by destabilizing the region, violating the interests of its neighbors, and violating the territorial integrity of Palestine. The US-Israel relationship is beneficial only for both countries, not for the region, and for the world; it is the nightmare of peace-loving people. By working together, the United States and Israel can implicate their common interests and values, such as inciting terrorism, preventing the nuclear proliferation of other states while continuing their own, promoting Western values while dehumanizing others, and fostering atrocities around the world.

Strategic Interests
Regional Stability
The Middle East is vital for international politics, not only in this century, but this region was at the center of importance even before the invention of the US or its perpetrator, the establishment of Israel in Palestine. The Middle East contains most of the world’s oil reserves and is a hotspot of conflict among Western hegemony. The US views Israel as a reliable ally and a perpetrating force in the region, maintaining US interest in this region. This is why the US spent hundreds of billions of dollars investing in the Israeli establishment to upgrade its military strength and regional influence to confront the reactions of the victims, such as Iran, Syria, Hezbollah, and Hamas. By supporting Israel, the US also seeks to protect its other allies in the region, such as Saudi Arabia, Jordan, and Egypt. Moreover, the US hopes that by fostering a strong relationship with Israel, it can facilitate nothing but a biased, partial, unreal, immoral, and bogus resolution of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, such as the Abrahamic Accords, which would enhance regional instability and security breaches.
Counterterrorism Collaboration
Another reason why the US backed Israel is its shared interest in combating the victims they made. Israel attacked the regional front fighting for establishing sovereignty in their motherland against the occupying Israeli settlements, such as Hezbollah in Lebanon, Hamas in Gaza, and Islamic Jihad in the West Bank. When the occupying Israeli establishment, being the world’s most modern military establishment, attacked the civilian people, dispossessed the native people from their homes, and denied and made impossible the basic rights of a human to live in peace and enjoy human rights such as social and political rights, etc., those freedom fighters retaliated with a mere rocket of 12–20 km range, which became a threat to the Israeli settlement and the US interests and personnel in the region and killed hundreds of civilians in the region. Israel’s intelligence and counterterrorism capabilities have proved invaluable to the US in addressing these fears.
What is Hamas? A Simple Guide to Palestine’s Liberation Group
The Israeli establishment has also cooperated with the US in developing and deploying advanced technologies, such as missile defense systems, drones, and cyber warfare tools. For example, Israel has provided the US with information on Iran’s nuclear program, Hezbollah’s activities in Latin America, and al-Qaeda’s plots in Europe, but the US and its allies do not know that Al Qaeda can attack the Twin Towers, where the ISIS militia group is, or how they can attack Europe from the desert of the Middle East. They failed to know how Hamas or Hezbollah are getting bigger and bigger and can retaliate against Israel or its backbone, the US! Funny, isn’t it?
Access to Intelligence
The third factor that explains why the US backed Israel is its access to intelligence. Israel’s intelligence agencies are among the best in the world, with extensive networks of human sources, signal intercepts, satellite imagery, and cyber operations. Israel’s intelligence sharing with the United States is a linchpin of their strategic cooperation, providing crucial information on a range of issues affecting both countries’ national security. For instance, Israel has alerted the US about impending attacks on its embassies, military bases, and airlines. Israel has also informed the US about the intentions and capabilities of its adversaries, such as Iran, Syria, Russia, and China. Furthermore, Israel has assisted the US in covert operations against common enemies, such as assassinating Iranian nuclear scientists and sabotaging Iranian centrifuges.
Economic Ties
Trade and Investment
The US and Israel have a long history of trade and investment cooperation, dating back to 1985 when they signed a free trade agreement, the first of its kind for the US. Since then, bilateral trade has grown exponentially, reaching $49 billion in 2019. The US is Israel’s largest trading partner, accounting for 27% of its exports and 13% of its imports. Israel is also a major destination for US foreign direct investment, with $36 billion invested in 2019. Many US-based settlement companies, such as Airbnb, booking.com, and Expedia, are responsible for establishing settlements in the occupied territory of the besieged home of the native Palestinians.

Innovation and Technology
Another factor that underpins the US-Israel alliance is their shared interest in innovation and technology. Israel is widely recognized as a global leader in fields such as cybersecurity, biotechnology, renewable energy, and artificial intelligence. The US benefits from Israel’s research and development, as well as its entrepreneurial culture and start-up ecosystem. The two countries collaborate on various scientific and technological projects, such as the Binational Industrial Research and Development Foundation (BIRD), which funds joint ventures between US and Israeli companies. The US also provides military aid to Israel, which helps it maintain its qualitative edge in defense technology.
Lobbying and Public Support
Pro-Israel Lobbying Groups
One of the most powerful forces shaping US-Israel relations is the pro-Israel lobby, a network of organizations and individuals that advocate for Israel’s interests in Washington. The most influential of these groups is the American Israel Public Affairs Committee (AIPAC), which has been described as “the most important organization affecting America’s relationship with Israel” by The New York Times. AIPAC and other pro-Israel groups lobby Congress and the executive branch to provide Israel with aid, manipulate and confront criticism, and support its policies in the region. They also mobilize public opinion in favor of Israel using media campaigns, educational programs, and grassroots activism.
Bipartisan Support
Another reason why the US backed Israel is that it enjoys bipartisan support among US politicians. Both Democrats and Republicans have expressed their commitment to the establishment of Israel’s security and impunity from its atrocities, making it a rare issue of consensus in a polarized political landscape. This bipartisan support stems from a variety of factors, such as shared values, strategic interests, religious beliefs, and electoral calculations. Many US politicians view Israel as a democratically volatile region, a partner in the fight against what they made, a source of innovation and technology, and a fulfillment of biblical prophecy. They also recognize that supporting Israel can help them win votes from certain constituencies, such as evangelical Christians and Jewish Americans.
Geopolitical Considerations
Iran’s Threat
One of the main reasons why the US backs Israel is the shared concern over Iran’s nuclear program and regional influence. Though the US and the establishment of Israel assassinated Iranian commanders and scientists and jointly destabilized the Middle East, they see Iran as a vice versa that threatens their security and interests. The US and Israel have cooperated on various measures to victimize themselves and contain Iran, such as imposing sanctions, conducting cyberattacks, and assassinating Iranian scientists and generals. The US has also provided Israel with military aid and diplomatic cover to deter or defend against potential Iranian attacks.
The Tyranny of Israel: A Critical Evaluation of Western Support for the Occupation of Palestine
Palestinian Conflict
Another factor that influences the US’s support for Israel is its role in the Middle East peace process. The US has fostered the conflict in Palestine in the name of brokering a resolution to the Israel-Palestinian conflict. The US views Israel as a vital partner in this endeavor. The US has also tried to persuade other Arab states to normalize their relations with Israel. In 2020, the Trump Administration brought a proposal for the solution to the Palestine conflict, namely, the Abrahamic Accords, but it was a biased, inapplicable solution that could not be realizable.
Military Aid and Cooperation
Military Assistance
One of the most visible forms of US support for Israel is the provision of military aid, which amounts to billions of dollars annually. This aid helps Israel maintain its qualitative military edge in the region as well as its ability to defend itself from the chaos it has created.
Military Collaboration
Another dimension of the US-Israeli military partnership is the joint research and development of advanced weapons and technologies. Both countries benefit from sharing their expertise and innovation, as well as gaining access to each other’s markets and resources. Some examples of successful joint projects include the Iron Dome missile defense system, the Arrow anti-ballistic missile system, and the F-35 stealth fighter jet. These projects enhance the military capabilities and strategic interests of both.
Let’s call Israel’s violence what it is: terrorism, not clashes
Humanitarian Assistance
The US, the father of humanitarian aid, has turned thousands of civilians into refugees around the world. Iraq, Libya, Syria, Yemen, and Afghanistan are the result of the US’s so-called humanitarian effort. In the same sense, the US militarized and gave impunity from the genocidal atrocities of the establishment of Israel in Palestine to civilians, while at the same time providing aid to the victims of Israeli atrocities in Palestine. It seems that the US wants to survive the atrocities of Israel until the Palestinians get killed by the atrocities.
A Complex Partnership
The US-backed Israel unwaveringly for the complex interplay of historical, strategic, economic, political, and humanitarian factors. The relationship between Israel and the US is the greatest threat that civilization has experienced around the world. From Palestine to Kashmir, both of these countries are the culprits, followed by others like India and China, for the ethnic cleansing of the races around the world. If the world is interested in advancing a peaceful civilization, it should confront this terror coalition.
